Website
Build a website to house your course projects. Use and customize a Wix.com template to develop a site that will creatively and professionally present your audio, visual, and video compositions—along with other course assignments—to a public audience.
For this assignment, you should:
-
Compose and edit relevant informational text and images for the site and employ consistent design conceptualization and navigation system throughout
-
Continually revise and update your website throughout the term, integrating feedback from in-class workshops and maintaining an up-to-date portfolio of all assignments and course projects (including all proposals, scripts, mark-ups, storyboards, and rough-tracks)
-
Ensure that all visual and/or audio affordances are either composed by you OR are licensed with Creative Commons licenses and may ethically be sourced & cited
Outcomes & Assessment
The website is worth 15 percent of your final grade; the final, fully populated (and perhaps revised) version of your website will be assessed as part of your final project. Over the process of composing and revising your website you should be able to show progress toward achieving these course outcomes (which are also the basis for assessment):
-
Rhetorical Knowledge: Demonstrate awareness of and responsiveness to audience, context, and purpose
-
Genre Knowledge: Employ genre conventions, both textual and visual, to serve your purpose(s)
-
Discourse Community Knowledge: Demonstrate attention to and successful execution of the conventions specific to the discourse community, including organization, content, presentation, formatting, and stylistic/syntactical choices
-
Writing Process Knowledge: Evidence significant recursive writing/thinking by developing, exploring, interpreting, evaluating, and revising content, style, and design throughout your website development
